File Libraries

The file library system is the easiest way to store, share and transfer any type of file. Allow your users to share program and document files. Offer software updates, CD-ROM files, articles, shareware, spreadsheets, and more.  Users can scan files by library, category, file name, file date, upload date, popularity, or by using wildcards or Boolean keyword expressions. File Libraries is like File Transfer Protocol (FTP) on steroids.

Best of all, you can charge for access to files, or reward members for their submissions.

Feature Benefit
Detailed File & Library Descriptions
Windows doesn't provide for a description of each file's contents, nor does it provide an index through which to keyword-search both filenames and descriptions. You can provide that and more.
Members can quickly determine content that is relevant to them.
File Categorization
This lets you sort possibly vast numbers of files into whatever categories seem most appropriate for your situation. You can even recombine them into joined libraries to simplify searches.
Make large groups of files manageable for members and staff.
Locks and Keys Access control
Allows you to prohibit / grant access to services and features in each library such as:
  • Visibility
  • ability to download / retrieve files
  • ability to upload / submit files
  • ability to overwrite files
  • pre-approval of file uploads
Offer premium "pay" services, or reverse it to pay/reward user for using the service.
Upload Restrictions
You can declare a maximum number of files allowed in a library, a maximum number of bytes allocated to all files in a library, and a maximum size for any single file upload.
Control resource usage
Audit Trail
You can log the User-ID associated with every file uploaded and downloaded in your libraries
Accurately track and record usage
File Approvals
Restrict file availability until a file has been approved by staff.
File approval protects your business by giving you the ability to examine uploaded files to weed out viruses or anything else that might cause injury (or at least embarrassment) if it were distributed from your system.

Members can view the contents of ZIP files before they download them.
Members can save time by being able to preview a file contents before downloading it -  especially important for very large files.

You can enlist others to maintain libraries through administrator roles.
